Victoria Falls Hotel
Victoria Falls Hotel
The Victoria Falls Hotel has a long tradition of hospitality, dating all the way back to 1904, when it was built to accommodate railway workers busy with Cecil John Rhodes’ Cape to Cairo efforts.
Today, it’s a proud member of the Leading Hotels of The World association and a landmark in the small town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The hotel still reflects that era of High Tea and G&Ts, although now it’s fully geared towards modern clientele looking for some of the most luxurious accommodation in Africa.
Rooms with a View
All the rooms drip with old-world elegance and sophisticated style. Four poster beds, antique furnishings and muted tones complete the ambience of yesteryear, although the free Wi-Fi does serve as a reminder of which century you’re in.
Each of the deluxe and standard suites and rooms accommodates two guests. The stand-alone Signature Stables wing is geared for family and tour groups with their own private courtyard and reception area.
The presidential suite and royal suites offer 2 bedrooms each, expansive seating areas and private balconies, while the Batoka Suite has impressive views of the Gorge for which it is named.
Fine Dining and Frivolous Fare
Meal times are an exceptional experience at the Victoria Falls Hotel.
The Livingstone Room is a super-swish Edwardian-style eatery which is only open for dinner. The a la carte and seven-course degustation menus are complimented by a range of fine liqueurs and wines, as well as a live band.
The Stanley Terrace dishes up light meals and high teas, and has the best view of Victoria Falls of any hotel in the area.
Jungle Junction is where the action is at during your stay at the Victoria Falls hotel. Here, you can dine on excellent African food and dance to the beat of the drums to your heart’s content.
The open-air poolside restaurant puts on a show every lunchtime to go with the barbeque feast prepared right there by top grill masters.
At Stanley’s Bar you can nip in for a pre-dinner cocktail or enjoy an all-day homemade lemonade.
Naturally, in-room dining is another option for all guests.
